Eight most beautiful beaches in Vietnam ranked by Lonely Planet

Phu Quoc 1The world famous travel site has designated Phu Quoc, Con Dao and My Khe beaches as the most beautiful in Vietnam, which lured a lot of foreign tourists in the past few years.

Here are the top eight beaches in Vietnam, according to Lonely Planet:

Phu Quoc

Located off the coast of Kien Giang Province, Phu Quoc Island is a destination for those who love sun, sea and wind. Phu Quoc Island is the largest island in Vietnam, with long beaches and many luxury resorts.

Upon coming to Phu Quoc, in addition to bathing in beautiful blue water, visitors can also tour the entire green island by motorcycles. They can drop in on pepper and rambutan gardens, pearl farms, or the Nha Thung fish sauce enterprise. Further destinations are Ganh Dau Cape, Tranh Stream and Dinh Cau night market to enjoy the delicacies.

Con Dao Island
Con Dao is rated as one of the 20 most mysterious islands in the world, according to Travel and Leisure in 2011.

Over 97 nautical miles from Vung Tau City in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, Con Dao can be accessed by visitors by plane or boat from Vung Tau.

The beaches around the island are beautiful, with light waves. Dam Trau is the island ‘s most beautiful beach, An Hai beach is the most quiet, and Dat Doc beach lies deep in the canyon.

Visitors to Con Dao also enjoy trekking in the primary forest of Ong Dung, going fishing and seeing sea turtles laying eggs.

This island is also the home to many revolutionary relics, such as the tiger cages and Hang Duong cemetery.

Ho CocMui Ne 2
Located in Ban Bien Commune, Xuyen Moc District in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, 175km from Ho Chi Minh City or about three hours by road.

Ho Coc beach has two parts: One with large stones piled on each other, scattered across the coast, and the other which is a long beach with white, smooth sand.

At the 500m long flat beach, which is surrounded by forest, you can learn about the coastal rainforest or try fishing. There are grounds for camping amid the forest, where you can bike around the area

Mui Ne
As one of the top addresses of Vietnam’s sea tourism in Binh Thuan Province, Mui Ne is fully populated with many luxury hotels, resorts and amusement centers.

Bai Rang is the most beautiful beach of Phan Thiet, surrounded by coconut trees. The sand dunes in Mui Ne are constantly changes their shape day by day, hour by hour. Deep in the dunes are the Fairly Stream with pink and red color. The White Lotus Lake amid the sand dunes is the destination for those who love to explore nature. You can move on the sand on skateboards, or row on the lake to see lotuses.

Nha Trangnha trang 2
As a thriving coastal city in central Vietnam, Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa Province) has the advantage of being a city with long beaches, hotels and restaurants of all classes, with many delicious and unique dishes.

There are many places to visit around Nha Trang. Hon Mun Island has pure water and gorgeous coral ecosystems, and is rated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) as the top sea biodiversity area in Vietnam.

From Hon Tam Island, you can see the whole of Nha Trang City in the north and Cam Ranh peninsula in the south.

Ponagar tower is a perfect example of the ancient architecture of the Cham people, 2km from the city center to the north.

Doc Let
About 50km to the north of Nha Trang City lies Ninh Hoa Town, with its beach of white sand and blue sky.

On the road to Doc Let, you will pass the beautiful and quiet rice fields and also the vast salt fields. The sand here is white, the waves are gentle, the water pure and very salty.

Cua DaiMy Khe Beach 2
Only 5km from Hoi An ancient town, 30km from Da Nang, Cua Dai’s long beach, white sand, medium waves, pure water and rows of poplars make this a great destination for a one day visit. After bathing in Cua Dai, you can return to Hoi An to discover the ancient town.

My Khe
Located in the coastal city of Da Nang, My Khe beach, with its big waves, white sand and exciting activities is a favorite destination of both domestic and foreign tourists.

Lying in the dynamic city of Da Nang, from here you can visit many destinations, such as the 20km long Hai Van Pass, known as the most beautiful – and also the most dangerous – mountain pass in Vietnam.

Ngu Hanh Son, or the Marble Mount, is about 7km from My Khe, adjacent to the Non Nuoc resort. Ngu Hanh Son is the “five rock mountain”, featuring the five basic elements – metal, wood, fire, earth and water.
